ABOUT

NICK SHAMBLOTT was born in Baltimore, MD. From a very early age he expressed a deep interest in both visual art and the fundamental scientific principles underlying visual design.
These interests lead him to Columbia College Chicago where he graduated with a BFA in Cinematography in 2012.
Over the course of the next five years Nick was the cinematographer on various narrative films, which have been featured at THE CHICAGO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL, THE REELING LGBTQ FILM FESTIVAL, THE CHICAGO COMEDY FILM FESTIVAL and many more.
In 2016 Nick moved to New Orleans, LA to expand and diversify his studies of visual language. There he has shot multiple projects, including THE MELANCHOLY MAN, which previewed at the NEW ORLEANS FILM FESTIVAL. It has since gone on to win BEST NARRATIVE JURY PICK at the AUDIENCE AWARDS and was invited to screen at COMIC CON.
Nick's fascination with image making is not limited to motion pictures - he also collaborates with designers and stylists across the country as a photographer, creating commercial, product and editorial content.
His work and photographic process granted him an artist's residency at Art Klub from 2017-2018 as a part of Prospect 4 New Orleans. The result of this residency is an ongoing research project titled LIGHT MOVING THROUGH TIME. It is a photographic study of recording movement, light and time.
Nick currently lives in New Orleans, where he eagerly continues his studies of image creation and design.
